A lot can happen in 26 years, 13 albums to be precise. But even after this much music Mlada Fronta amazes us with the newest release “No Trespassing”. It sure will stay for a while in our cassette players. But don’t get us wrong, the record is not just background music that plays while you concentrate on everything else but the music. You can clearly hear the industrial background of the artist Remy Pelleschi, catchy basslines, arpeggiators and melodies that stick to your ear throughout the day. “No Trespassing” takes you to the dancefloor where you can’t stop moving to tracks like “The Warriors” or “Arcade Racer”, preferably to neon and strobo lights. Mlada Frontas past was a diverse playground of trance, techno and Industrial, but we of course like the transition to synthwave. Very much.
In 26 Jahren kommt einiges zusammen, um genau zu sein 13 Alben, doch selbst danach begeistert uns Mlada Fronta mit einem Album bei welchem wir jetzt schon wissen dass es bei uns in der Dauerrotation landen wird. Aber nicht falsch verstehen, “No Trespassing” ist keineswegs nur Hintergrundmusik die den ganzen Tag vor sich hin dudelt. Den von Industrial beeinflussten Ursprung merkt man dem Album an, drückende Bässe kombiniert mit Arpeggiator und ins Ohr brennende Melodien lassen keine Zeit sich vom Kopfnicken zu erhohlen. “No Trespassing” entführt einen auf die Tanzfläche, auf der man dann zu Tracks wie “The Warriors” oder “Arcade Rider” verweilen will, am liebsten mit viel Strobo und Schwarzlicht. Die Vergangenheit von Mlada Fronta war mit Industrial, Trance und Techno geschmückt, doch der Sprung zum Synthwave gefällt uns natürlich besonders gut.
