Have you heard of Sigma Delta yet? If not, you should pay close attention now, because what he delivers with his album “Signals” is truly genius.
It doesn’t only create a dark and dystopian cyberpunk atmosphere in the likes of Blade Runner or Ghost in the Shell, it also garnishes this with a 16 bit sound that is perfectly on point. This combination, underlined with one or the other smashing guitar riff, literally screams to be included in the soundtrack of a video game.
In addition, Sigma Delta delivers gloomy elements that one could refer to for the story of said game. A story full of treason, hate and misgony, in which you encounter a handful of broken individuals and cyber criminals.
Our personal favorite is clearly “Routing 2K17”. The robotic voice, the distorted synth sound and the pushing bass line straight from the beginning is just pure gold. The jumping delay lead, accompanied by 16 bit sound creates the cherry on top. For me, this fits perfectly to the last crazy story twist before the boss fight.
So, dear Dennaton Duo, in case you were looking for your perfect ready-made soundtrack for Hotline Miami 3, look no further!
Habt Ihr schon einmal etwas von Sigma Delta gehört? Wenn nicht, dann solltet Ihr jetzt gut aufpassen, denn was er mit seinem Album Signals abliefert, ist wirklich genial.
Er erzeugt nicht nur eine düstere und dystopische Cyberpunk Atmosphäre à la Blade Runner oder Ghost in the Shell, nein er garniert das Ganze auch noch mit einem gekonnten 16 Bit Sound. Genau diese Kombination, über die man dann noch den ein oder anderen fetten Gitarren Riff legt, schreit förmlich nach einem Videospiel, das dieses Album untermalen soll.
Außerdem liefert Sigma Delta hier auch noch düstere Elemente, die man perfekt für die Handlung eines solchen Spieles heranziehen könnte. Eine Story voller Verrat, Hass und Missgunst, in der man jede Menge kaputte Individuen und Cyberkriminelle zu Gesicht bekommt.
Mein persönlicher Favorit ist ganz klar „Routing 2K17“. Die Roboter Stimme, der verzerrte Synthsound und der treibende Bass gleich zu Beginn, sind einfach nur gut. Das hüpfende Delay Lead, das dann noch mit 16 Bit Sound unterlegt wird setzen dem Ganzen die Krone auf. Dieser Track passt für mich perfekt zum letzten abgedrehten Story Twist und dem darauffolgenden Boss Kampf.
