Heute stellen wir euch den bereits dritten Longplayer des Österreichers Edictum vor. Das Album Somaesthia ist in Qualität, Abwechslung und Technischer Finesse definitv seinen Vorgängern überlegen.

Bereits der Intro Song ist ein sehr guter Einstieg. Wie bereits von Edictum gewohnt werden hier klassische und moderne Elemente gekonnt vermischt. So starten wir hier mit einem orchestralen Klassik Part, der smooth zu Synthetik wechselt und sehr gut auf das Kommende einstimmt.

Im Ganzen findet man eine sehr abwechslungsreiche Trackliste auf diesem Album.

Von traditionellen Synthwave, egal ob mit Vocals, Saxophon, Gitarren oder sogar Trance Elementen, bis hin zu düsterren Songs im Cyberpunk-Design und leichtem Goth-Einschlag mit Vocals, spiegelt sich hier die große Bandbreite des Genres wider, die Edictum herausragend beherrscht und bespielt.

Zudem tragen viele flotte, tanzbare Stücke mit Funk-Vibe, wie in etwa “DATA HIGHWAY” und einige ruhigere, spacige Songs wie “HAZE” dazu bei, eine sehr gute Mischung zu kreieren, die auch nach mehrmaligem Hören einfach nicht langweilig wird.

Edictum nimmt euch mit diesem Album mit auf eine philosophische Reise durch Geist und Leben, die zum Träumen, Reflektieren und In-Sich-Kehren, aber auch gleichzeitig zum Loslassen anregt.

Man sollte daher auf jedenfall sich ausreichend Zeit nehmen und das Album am Stück anhören – erst dann entfaltet es wirklich seine volle Wirkung – eine Platte wie ein Meditations Retreat.

Wir könne es kaum abwarten zu sehen, wohin uns Edictum als nächstes mitnimmt – eigentlich ist das aber auch zweitrangig, denn klingen wird es auf jeden Fall ganz wunderbar.

Today we would like to introduce you to the hence third longplayer of the Austrian Edictum. The album, Somaesthia, truly trumps its predecessors with regards to quality, variety, as well as technical skill.

This already begins with the Intro song. True to his usual style, Edictum skillfully combines classical and modern elements in this piece. We begin with a classical orchestral part, which smoothly blends into synthetics and sets the mood for what is to come.

All in all you find a very diversified tracklist on this album.
From traditional synthwave, be it with vocals, saxophone, guitars or even Trance elements, all the way to darker songs in cyberpunk design and a hint of a goth feeling with vocals, the whole bandwidth of the genre is reflected here, which Edictum masterfully commands and tweaks.

In addition, a lot of fast-paced danceable tracks with a funk vibe, such as “DATA HIGHWAY” and a few calmer and quieter pieces such as “HAZE” contribute to a fantastic mixture, that keeps us entertained and fascinated even after repeated playthroughs.

Edictum takes you on a philosophical journey through soul and life with this album that invited you to reflect, dream and listen, but also to let go.

You should definitely take your time listening to this gem, because only then it unfolds its true effect – an album a bit like a meditation retreat.

We can’t wait to see where Edictum takes us next – to be honest, though, that is really secondary, because we already know it will sound great.
